What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is a holistic method of healing which recognises that the human body has the ability to correct itself, regain balance and overcome illness.
Naturopathic treatments aim to support the body’s own healing abilities through changes in diet, supplementation with vitamins, minerals and herbal medicines, as well as advising the patient on lifestyle changes which may be necessary to achieve optimum health.
The naturopathic practitioner will treat the underlying disorder, seek the cause of illness and aim to restore the body back to its normal function.
The naturopathic practitioner views the symptoms of disease as warning signs of improper functioning of the body and unfavourable lifestyle habits, and not something to be suppressed with medication.
